Hardy
Plant Society (UK)
Well known all over the world with a very enthusiastic membership, local
groups, specialist groups and many publications on specific plant
groups.
National
Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens - Plant
Heritage (UK)
Whilst still Legally remaining the NCCPG the decision makers have
confusingly adopted the "Working Title" of Plant Heritage for
use at almost all times. The first dedicated garden plant conservation organisation, which
established and now regulates the National Plant Collections®
scheme. Now
has 40 local groups and a range of publications on specific genera written by
National Collection holders.
Royal
Horticultural Society (UK)
I don't really need to say much here, do I! If you can afford the
membership subscription (over twice that of most others on this page) it would be worth becoming a member. However
(most of) the
website is free and provides a great deal of plant information, including the
RHS Plant Finder and Nursery Finder. The Mentha entries are used as the
"benchmark" by many people and organisations (including the NCCPG/PH)
and it is good, but not complete or completely correct!
Cottage Garden Society (UK)
Often thought of as an old fashioned way of gardening, Cottage Gardening is what most of
us actually do to with our gardens, to a greater or lesser extent.

Organic (UK)
Whilst still Legally remaining the
HDRA the decision makers have
confusingly adopted the "Working Title" of Garden Organic for
use at almost all times. The biggest
membership organic gardening organisation in Europe, with display gardens in
the midland and southeast England.
